The world is falling deeper and deeper into a toxic mindset. “No one owes you anything.” mindset in an already incredibly inaccessible world is going to be the end of us all. By definition humans are social creatures, we need each other. But when those in power want to control, what makes it easier than a fend for yourself society? People have the power in our numbers, but alone, we have nothing.
This culture is even more disabling for those who may differ from the norm. Neurodivergent minds, different physical abilities, marginalized and racialized communities. There is never an actual want to listen to the voices of those who need a hand, just to look down on them and tell them what they should do.
Community care is what will save us from this late stage capitalistic culture. Humans are messy, humans are chaotic, humans are also caring. Here we can raise each other us, learn, grow, make mistakes, and keep trying to thrive!
